Our Curriculum: An Introduction

Paget Curriculum Guarantee

It is an exciting time at Paget as we have designed a new curriculum that ensures our children get the most out of their time at Paget Primary. The curriculum at Paget Primary School is organised through the 'Paget Curriculum Guarantee'.

The Paget Curriculum Guarantee provides all of our children with a rich, varied, broad and balanced programme which meets the requirements of the National Curriculum and the Birmingham RE Agreed Syllabus as well as providing other aspects designed to meet the needs of all Paget children. At the heart of all we do is the Values Based Education approach (see Values section), Values underpins all aspects of school life at Paget.

The Paget Curriculum Guarantee is the minimum expectation of all that the children will experience during their time at Paget. It provides the children with a wide range of opportunities that will give them the values, skills, knowledge and understanding to grow and develop into successful learners and responsible citizens.

These experiences include:

  • Visits and visitors such as the Year 2 and Year 6 Residentials and travelling theatre companies.
  • Special projects such as professional dance companies and artists in residence.
  • Outdoor learning including Foundation's mud kitchen, the allotment and forest schools.
  • Community based projects including fund raising and improving our environment.
  • A focus on current affairs which looks at planned world events like The Olympics as well as keeping abreast of breaking news.
  • Key traditions and events that represent the make up of our school community including Black History Month, Remembrance Sunday, Saint George's Day and a range of religious festivals.

For a more in depth look at the Guarantee please see the documents that explain how we organise learning at Paget, alternatively contact us with your curriculum enquiry where you will be directed to the relevant member of staff.
