Our Values

Values Education

Paget Primary is a Values School. It is our Values that determine our thinking and behaviour. Through a Values-based Education, a positive culture for teaching and learning is created which is based upon valuing ourselves, each other and the environment.

Our school values support the development of the whole child. The 22 values are taught on a two-year rolling programme. These values have been agreed by staff, governors, parents and pupils.

Parents are encouraged to support values at home through:

  • The Parent's Pocket Guide to Values (pdf) which explains to new parents about values at Paget.
  • Parent's nominations to celebrate their child demonstrating values at home – there is a nomination form included each month in the school's newsletter. One can also be found on our website in the Parent's Zone under 'Policies and Documents' and then at the bottom of the page under Forms. Parents can fill this in and send it into school. The nomination will be read out in class and a values token awarded.
  • The school's monthly newsletter in which there is a section dedicated to values which explains the value of the month and how parents can support at home. Other news about values is also included.
  • Workshops.
  • A Bear Diary – each class from Nursery to Year 4 takes home their class bear and a diary to write in and capture moments on camera with their bear, demonstrating the value of the month.
