Event - Year 6 Visit Shakespeare

29 January 2016

Our Big Idea is 'Is William Shakespeare still relevant?'. To help us find out, we went on a really exciting trip! On Friday 29th January 2016, Year 6 boarded a coach and headed off to the town of William Shakespeare's birth, Stratford-Upon-Avon.

In the morning, we took part in a workshop where we did quill writing, Tudor shopping, handled real artefacts, visited the historical vaults and archives and saw a genuine signature of Queen Elizabeth I!

Then, in the afternoon, we visited Shakespeare's house and the house of his daughter, Suzannah. We had time to do a spot of acting and ended the day with a trip to the Bard's final resting place, Holy St. Trinity Church.

We had an amazing day with lots of learning!
